RE: SENECA HD EXHAUST STRAP REPAIR - GOOD

The rear hanger on mine did the same thing. Jayco dealer took car of it since it was, like you said something Jayco added.

RE: Another Jayco Recall - Greyhawk & Seneca LPG

Not sure why the 32SS is listed, no appliances are in the slide outs?

RE: Kodiak 8.1 heavy towing fuel mileage?

Mine came in at 17,460, front 5,480, rear 11,980. Full water, fuel, propane, and all our stuff we usually travel with. Only my son and I in the coach. Still leaves me almost 8,000 for towing.

RE: Kodiak 8.1 heavy towing fuel mileage?

I'm seeing right between 6-7mpg towing 22ft 6500lbs box trailer. My right foot and the wind seem to have the greatest effects on the mileage. I keep the speed a 60 most of the time. I must say, it's much nicer towing with this C than my 29ft mini winnie.

RE: KODIAK FUEL CAPACITY

I've put as much as 72 gals in mine, 8.1 gasser. I usually have a trailer in tow so I'm seeing between 6-7 mpg. I can easily go ~500 miles between fueling.

RE: Satellite on Seneca

We had a Kingdome stationary, automatic (#9704 LP-B) installed and love it. One push of the button and it finds the satellite. It was installed between the front Fantastic Fan and the 1st. AC on the centerline of the MH. We retained the batwing antenna for use as desired. We debated between a crank up antenna and a dome. Eventually decided on the dome for ease of operation and not forgetting to drive away w/o lowering. Sure glad we got the dome as we are currently just outside of Palm Springs, CA and have had a couple of days with VERY high winds. Had to pull in the slide outs one night, but never lost TV. This is the reason I went with the dome, the wind. A friend of mine has the winegard crank up and has to strap it down if the wind comes up.

RE: Satellite on Seneca

Just put a Kingdome on over the weekend on my Greyhawk. Other than being hard on my knees it went well and works great, just push the botton and wait for it to find the satellite. Most of my camping is out in the open so I not to worried about trees.

RE: Jayco Seneca Super C awning

I adjusted mine last summer when I first got my 32SS and left it in the lowest position. It open and closes just fine. see pic I thought the original poster was talking about a model that has a slideout on that side that is under the awning. I was just answering the questions above. Sorry if got off topic.

RE: Transmission temp gauge

Even last summer when I first towed my boat in a 100* weather, it never came up much, only when pulling the hills.

RE: Anyone happy with their Kodiak chassis ride?

I can drive mine with one hand on the wheel like a car. I also have the stabil-ride, which came from the factory. It must make a huge difference, because I am just not experiencing sway, dipping, leaning, marshmallow wheel or problems when being past. I can cruse at 70-80 with no problem, but I try to stay around 65 to get better mileage. I experienced 30mph crosswinds on top of a large bridge today and it certainly got my attention and had to drive with both hands and stay alert. Not perfect, but as good or better than anything else I have driven. I can talk on the phone from the cab while driving and carry on a conversation with no problem. I'd like to put another couple thousand miles on it under more conditions and post again. Our 2004 GS Endura did not come with Stabil-Ride. GS started putting it on all Kodiak in 2005. When we went to the GS rally in Goshen, IN last June. Bought the kit for $200. It consist of a 2 1/2" front sway bar (stock is 2") and mounting brackets. Plus a set of extra long rear spring snubber's. They made a world of difference in handling on turns. Already had the Bilstiens on MH. Prior to installing the kits, any turn marked for reduced speed had to be driven at 5 to 10 mph less than the signs stated. I can now make these turns at or above posted speeds. For Jayco owners. Stabil-Ride is put on their 19,500 chassis's. But not on the 22,000. Can this "kit" be purchased through Chevy? thanks

RE: An observation

I'm not sure an EQ hitch will solve your problem, might just hide your problem in the extended frame rails. Also I have read somewhere on this site that some of the hitches on motor homes are not to be used with EQ hitches. 31 ft.is a long way to try to move that weight , I'm not sure but I don't think the weight will go forward, more likely it will transfer to your trailer, overloading that frame and tires. My '04 Winnie had a sticker on the receiver that said not to use an EQ hitch. Also said 350# tongue and 3500# on the towing.

RE: An observation

I had a Winne on the E450 chassis and it was great as long as I wasn't towing, and in fact, it rode smoother than my current super C solo. But, as far as towing and power I love the Kodiak chassis. Handles the towing much better and I'm "legal" with what I tow. I think it all depends on what your plans are with it. Good luck with your choice.

RE: Grey hawk, Kodiak C 5500

We have had a 32SS since Aug and really like it. Drives a lot better than our E450 did, both solo and towing. (legal now with the big trailer) Love the big gen and two A/C's, nice in the summer time at the riv! So far only a few small issues, nothing big, knock on wood.

RE: 5 or 6 speed Allison?

My gaser has a six speed, looked at the code on the visor, (MTR). The chassis mfg date on the door says 10/06,and the Jayco mfg date is 3/07. Also, I see about 7 mpg towing a 6500#, 22ft trailer. (60 mph)

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

K9eros the shop that did the spring upgrades made the decision that the front springs needed to also be upgraded and Jayco agreed. Krt, I first brought the spring issue up to my dealership who then had me contact Jayco directly. I was told to take the coach into a medium truck repair shop for an estimate for spring repairs. I gave them contact persons and numbers for Jayco and they faxed the estimate to them. The person I worked with at Jayco was Les Carriveau. I hope this helps, good luck Thanks! Is your dealer Richardsons RV?

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

Do you, or anyone else here have the contact info handy for Jayco regarding the rear spring upgrades. I would like to see my coach about 2 inches higher in the rear. thanks
